Pages to share

I had a lovely day scrapbooking with my mum yesterday while my youngest was at daycare. A perfect birthday present for me.

I have a few layouts to share, all using my June Counterfeit Kit of course.

The first layout is also my entry for Aussie Scrap Source Style Lounge challenge. This week the style was Graphic Colour blocked.

A layout with my now not so little boy, sigh

Using some more of my homemade felt flowers here:

And a double layout with my cousins super sweet baby girl Abbey.

When I made this kit I really thought I would struggle to find photos to use. Turns out I have heaps and the kit is a lot more versatile than I first thought.

I am still loving the kit concept and I may have converted my mum too. She couldn't believe how much more productive I was just because I was using what I had in my kit instead of searching all through my stash and basically overthinking everything.

Hope you are having a scrappy day.

Style Lounge - Detailed Whimsy

This week the challenge at Aussie Scrap Source was to create a layout in Iris Baboa Uy's detailed whimsy style.

Here is a close look at the photo. These cousins were born 4 months apart.

My favourite part of the layout is this little stitched on banner with flowers either end.

I have used my June Pretty Counterfeit Kit for this layout (as opposed to my "boy" kit). Maybe my kits need names to save confusion lol. The Butterflies came from my new Stampin' Up! Embosslit. Cute hey.

I wonder what style the challenge will be next week at Aussie??

June Counterfeit Kits (Yep Kits!!)

This month the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog have chosen to counterfeit a new kit company Burlap and Buttercups. Their June kit was very pretty with pinks, yellows and greens.

My first thought was a Basic Grey Colllection Kit I had that was not even open. So out came the Two Scoops collection and my counterfeit kit was born.

I have added in some ancient Chatterbox wooden frames instead of the chipboard frames and some frames from Grace Taylor.

I have made some of my own felt flowers and added in some heart pins and a butterfly pin.

So  there we have my first very pretty June Kit.

My second kit came about as I was searching my paper stash I found this cute doily style paper from Sassafrass Lass that tied in with the doily paper in the original kit.

Of course the colours were all wrong for the original kit so I started a second kit with this paper and a couple of others from the same collection to get to this...

I added in some chipboard frames from Heidi Swapp, Lil Davis and Maya Road and swapped the butterflies and flowers for denim gears and hessian lollipops.

The diecut paper is from Grace Taylor. The blues and browns in this kit will be perfect for some boy pages but I am not really sure what to do with the pretty kit...maybe some baby photos???

Hopefully inspiration will hit when the mini challenges are announced. There is some very old product in both these kits so if I get these used I will be one happy scrapper.

There was also the option of creating a Summer kit which I have done as well. I will share mine later this week..the bright summer colours will brighten up these dreary winter days.

Hippity Hoppity Counterfeit Kit Challenge May Blog Hop

Hi and welcome.

The challenge for this month's Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop was a great one. Visit your favourite manufacturer's blog for inspiration and create. Now my list of fave manufacturers is huge and I had no idea where to start so I just quickly scanned a few blogs until something caught my eye. I ended up choosing projects from Studio Calico and Pink Paislee.

My first project is based on this layout by Barb Novak that was featured on the Studio Calico blog. The punched circles and pops of colour really stood out for me.

And here is my version:

And a closer look at the sweet denim cog and heart pin.

The second project that really appealed to me was by Piradee on the Pink Paislee Blog.

I loved her use of circle punches (can you see the theme going on here..yes I seem to have a thing for circle punches this month!!).

Here is Piradee's project:

So soft and pretty. Of course my version is neither soft or pretty lol but I did use lots of strips of patterned paper and those groovy punched circles.

A closer look at the journalling:

Circles and splatters make me happy...

Thanks for hopping by and please leave a comment so I know you have visited.

You next stop is Julie Ann.

Mini Challenge 3 - embellishments

The third challenge at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge this month was to plan a layout or project around an embellishment.

My whole kit this month was designed around a sheet of Cosmo Cricket Snorkel chipboard embellishments so I chose from them a life preserver and then searched for photos. My 7 year old was scrapping with me at the time and had a box of old photos and that was when I spotted these pics of Ben that were taken in 2003...perfect for this challenge.

So with embellishment and photos in hand I created this

I created the wave effect on my paper with my trusty circle punches. I have also misted my background paper with some Smooch Spray. It looks pretty irl with a blue shimmer.

I was happy to get these photos scrapped and finally use those chipboard embellishments!!

Playing catch up....

I am catching up on some of the Mini Challenges over at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge this month.

The first mini challenge was to create a project using this sketch from the Sketch Support site. I hadn't visited this site before and I have to say I am now in love. The double page sketches are amazing. I will definately be adding Sketch Support to my favourites.

Here is my take on the sketch using of course my May Counterfeit Kit.

I have added in some stamping with one of my new Stampin' Up! "Extreme Elements" stamps and the Happy Birthday came from "Grunge Rock". So nice to finally have some boy stamps that aren't baby boy.

The stars were cut with my Big Shot and different size star punches. The border was cut using my Curly Label punch and sliding it along. It makes a really cool edge.

Thanks for stopping by

Smile

The Aussie Scrap Source style challenge last week was "Artsy Grunge" inspired by Leeann Pearce.

I expected this challenge to be hard because this is not my usual style...but I loved it. I had so much fun adding bits and creating my background and I am really happy with the end result.

I have used my May Counterfeit Kit plus some cotton doilies from The Chip Chop Shop, rubons from Cherry-Arte, corrugated board, felt, denim, paint, mists, smooch inks and anything else that was on my desk.

A little close-up of some of the details:

I cut a felt star for another layout using my Big Shot and decided I liked the negative shape so a little stitching and taa daa..

Hope you are having a scrappy day.

One Summer Afternoon

The second week of Style Lounge at Aussie Scrap Source featured Kathie Link's playful style. I always admire Kathie's layouts but never quite pull off that look myself.

But because I do enjoy a challenge and I am determined to try every style I had a go....

Here is a closer look at those cute Cosmo Cricket chipboard pieces. Sam (my 2 yr old) especially loves that fishy and keeps pinching him off the layout. I may need a stronger glue lol.

This is also my first layout from my May Counterfeit Kit.

Week 3's challenge is also up at Aussie - Artsy Grunge...hmmm that may take some work.

Counterfeit Kit May 2011 Summer Sunshine

At the Counterfeit Kit Challenge site this month we are counterfeiting Work in Progress's May Kit. Click here to check out their site.

I loved the bright summery feel of this kit and the gorgeous chipboard embellishments. I based my kit around a set of Cosmo Cricket Chipboard embellishments and 5 of their papers from the Snorkel Range.

To this I added some other co-ordinating papers from Junkitz, Scenic Route, Crate paper and some Cosmo Cricket from other ranges.

To mimic the vintage vibe of some of the embellishments I have thrown in a October Afternoon Flashcard Album.

I added in a few journalling cards, some super cute Stampin' Up! Buttons and corduroy brads, some ribbon, trims and a few flowers.

Bright, fun and definately summer!! Can't wait to use it.

Style Lounge - Shabby Chic

On the Aussie Scrap Source Blog they are running a new weekly reader's challenge. Each week they reveal a new style from one of their amazing design team and your mission is to create a layout in that style. They have some prizes up for grabs too.

The first style featured was Shabby Chic and featured some gorgeous samples from Janine Koczwara. I based my layout on her first sample layout.

Here is a closer look at some of the layers and this sweet photo that I adore of my mum and I.

Isn't that little butterfly stick pin sweet. Lisa Walsh makes them and Vicki has them for sale at Angels R Scrappin.

Hope you find the time to try out some different styles. I think this will be a really fun challenge.

All things Kaiser

I stumbled across the fact that Kaisercraft had a Design team call (which ends today eek!!). Check their blog here for more details.

Naturally, I didn't have time to come up with eight new projects but looking back through my recent projects I found a lot of Kaisercraft products. Obviously I have a thing for Kaisercraft lol.

First up I have two layouts with the Up Up and Away Range.

I can't remember the name of this range but the oranges and blues made a really vibrant colour scheme. This was a challenge pack from my local Scrapbook Shop Angels R Scrappin.

Some black and grey elegance (and I think most of a sheet of rubons!!) from the After Five Collection.

Papers from one of the earlier boy ranges combined with woven embellishments from Rewind.

The Jungle Bug collection features some very cute bugs to go with two of my little bugs....

Here is my Prairie Lane Card Set which I taught at Angel's R Scrappin.

I also designed and taught a card class using the yummy Tea at Elsie's range. Here are two of the cards.

Thanks for joining in me in my little review of my Kaisercraft projects.

Hippity Hoppity Counterfeit Kit Club April Blog Hop

Welcome to the April Counterfeit Kit Club Blog Hop. If you are new to the hop you can visit Counterfeit Kit Challenge here to get started or just continue on from here.

This was my first month joining in with the challenges and my first counterfeit kit. I have to say that I loved it. I have created so many layouts and really felt inspired to scrap. The limitations of a kit work really well for me.

This month's blog hop challenge is a fun one too..we were to visit the design team's blogs and be inspired (easy peasey they had so many gorgeous projects).

I fell in love with Lisa Tottie's Park Day layout here (and how jealous am I that she got to meet Tim Holtz!!).

There was so much about this layout I loved, the little banner, stamping on the edges, misting and masking. Lisa's layout was gorgeous and I am so happy with my cased layout.

I have used my Counterfeit Kit and added in the Tim Holtz Love ticket, Basic Grey Chipboard letters, Rose Moka little letter stickers and of course some ink and mist.

To see all the layouts I created with my April Counterfeit kit just scroll down.

Your next stop on the blog hop is with the fabulous Lesa here.

Enjoy the hop and don't forget to leave a comment to let me know you stopped by.

Love You Layout 5 (or is it 6)

Another layout from my April Counterfeit Kit. I love the bright papers on a black background. They really pop and I wanted something bright and fun for this cute picture of my little boy Ben way back in 2003.
The papers and letter stickers are from Echo Park. I added in some felt flowers that were sitting on my desk. I can't remember the manufacturer (maybe Bella??). The label stickers are by October Afternoon.

Here is a closer look at the layered stickers and flowers (and my cute boy).

Wet and Wild - Mini Challenge 1

The first monthly mini challenge at Counterfeit Kits is to use memorabilia on a page. I have sewn a pocket to hold the brochure and park map from our trip to Wet and Wild on the Gold Coast last year.

The Wet and Wild title came from the cardboard presentation folder that the photo came in. Unfortunately this is the only photo we have from Wet and Wild as my camera died on our holiday by about day 3 I think. So the photo from the ride is all we have which is why it is great to have the brochure included on my page.

I am seriously running out of kit now but I have another two layouts to share (you will have to wait for the Counterfeit Kit blog hop for one). I think I might be able to squeeze one more layout out of the kit but then that is it all done. Can't wait for the 5th May to start making my next kit.

T & S

My fourth layout from my April Counterfeit Kit.

Most of this page is from my kit, MME and Echo Park papers, journalling spot used for my title from Making Memories, flowers cut with my Stampin' Up! Boho Blossoms punch and layered on some Prima Flowers.

I added in some leaves cut from Scenic Route paper, black ribbon, a black arrow border and made another heart transparency.

I have also splashed some black mist across the page.

I am fast running out of kit...hope I have enough left to tackle the mini challenges.

Happy Scrapping
